For a city child, a cow often exists only in picture books. Here they can see one up close, hear it and pet it.
Who lives here
- Goats — the most sociable. They're first to the fence to check whether you've brought anything tasty
- Horses — calm and curious, they graze by the barn
- Cows — slow and gentle. They give the milk for the curd cheese and cheese served in the cafe
- Geese and ducks — march in a line and loudly comment on everything they see
- Chickens and quails — lay the eggs that go into the morning omelettes
Evenings in the barn
At 7 pm the red barn opens to guests. You can watch the goats and the cow being milked, ask who has which personality, and feed the animals.
It's best to bring treats with you: carrots, apples or cabbage. Wash and cut them up beforehand; it's safer for the animals.
“On the farm tour everyone had a go at milking a goat, and we bottle-fed the kids… We brushed Mishka the bull. Our city child was thrilled, and so was I.”
Farm produce
You can taste everything the farm produces. The cafe cooks with our own milk, curd cheese and eggs, and the farm shop sells cheeses, butter, yoghurt and eggs. We've listed what it stocks on a separate page.
You can also come just for a tour, without staying overnight: here's how to book.
