Farm and animals

Meet the residents

A‑Ferma is home to a big, friendly crowd: horses, goats, sheep, cows, muscovy ducks, quails, chickens, geese and rabbits.

Each has a character of their own. Some come straight over to say hello, some love attention, and some prefer to watch from a distance.

Meeting our residents always brings delight for kids and grown‑ups alike, honest smiles and warm memories you'll want to take home.

  • Three horses in a pasture

    Horses

Lira and Aldo are our handsome pair and guest favourites. Graceful, curious and utterly charming.

  • Two goats leaning against each other

    Goats

Our most sociable and curious residents. Always happy to see guests, first to come and say hello and, of course, never one to miss a chance to beg for a treat.

  • A calf in a meadow looking at the camera

    Cows

Kind and calm. They love grazing slowly in the meadow, basking in the sun and enjoying their unhurried farm life.

  • White geese walking on the grass

    Geese

The most important residents on the farm! They walk with their heads held high, loudly discuss everything going on and seem truly convinced that they are the ones in charge!

  • A red cow resting her head on the fence

    Video

A minute of farm life: horses, goats, cows, geese and hens.

The river and the pier are pure love. The boats are free to take: you row a little way from the shore and enjoy the quiet and nature. It's really, really peaceful here.

This is our third year in a row at A‑Ferma, it's our favourite place to unwind! It all started romantically: on our first visit my husband proposed to me right in one of the cosy little cottages.

On the farm tour everyone had a go at milking a goat, and we bottle-fed the kids… We brushed Mishka the bull. Our city child was thrilled, and so was I.

…the cottages are placed so that guests don't disturb each other, and it really feels like you're alone in all this beauty and calm.

A must on the list: slow-cooked pearl barley with duck. So tender, fragrant and delicious that it's worth coming back just for that.

We came for three days and two nights, with my husband and our dog… At check-in we got a present for the dog, a useful and lovely one… The two days flew by. We'll keep coming back.

It's worth knowing what this place is about: not parties and loud music, but quiet, unhurried rest in seclusion, usually with someone you love or with family.

From the very first minutes you can feel how much love and work has gone into this place… We left feeling we'd been not just somewhere beautiful, but guests of good people.

Yes. All cabins have underfloor heating, and you set the temperature yourself.

Food

There's a guest café with a varied menu on the farm, and every cabin has its own kitchen and barbecue area.

You can also try our farm produce:

  • Marinated chicken for shashlik
  • Duck liver pâté (with cranberry jelly)

  • Chicken eggs
  • Quail eggs

Goat's milk

Can I bring pets?

Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome.

Please don't leave your pets unattended!

Internet

Every cabin has Wi‑Fi, and mobile internet works well too.

All carriers get LTE (except Beeline).

What should I bring?
  • Clothes for the weather: boots and a raincoat if rain is forecast, and hats, jackets and mittens in winter
  • Food
  • Toiletries
Parking

There's free parking on the farm.

We carry guests' luggage from the car park to the cabin on a tricycle.

The water

The farm sits on a pond dammed from the Volnaya river. The area was flooded by hand, and the dam is just outside the grounds.

The pond is great for boats and SUP boards. It's shallow and has almost no current. The water is peaty, so it looks brown. You can swim in summer.

There are fish, but they're hard to catch. Bring your rods :)

Shops

The nearest shop is a 5-minute drive.

If you come by train, there's a Pyaterochka supermarket at the station.

Insects

We treat the farm against ticks every spring.

In summer the cabins have fly tape and mosquito repellent plug-ins.

The only snakes you might see are harmless grass snakes.

Roads

After you turn off the main paved road, there are 500 metres of gravel.
